Miss Portia Carew lived in the shadow of scandalous rumors started by her ex fience. Never mind that they were true it was beyond the pale for him to spread the rumors after he dumped her. So now determined to avoid her matchmaking mothers attempts to find her a husband and set up a quiet life alone, Portia only needs to learn to give herself pleasure to become completely self sufficient.
The Honorable Mark Knightson avoided marriage like the plague, just the thought of it was enough to unman him. However helping a young miss learn to pleasure herself, that's a whole nother story. When he catches Portia touching herself in the library Mark is quick to offer his services and when the sexy, sensual Portia seduces him Mark goes along willingly, after of course making sure Portia knows about his five fuck limit. But when the time comes will Mark turn his back on his sexy student or will he look inside and find his greatest fear is no longer marriage but living without Portia's love?
Set amongst the pomp and pagentary of the Regency Era Show Me is chock full of the sexual heat we have come to expect of the Aphrodisia line, Watching Portia mature both sexually and emotionally through out the story is very satisfying. While Mark's journey seemed harder, taking a nasty shock and an awful loss before he could get past his preconceived notions but more worthwhile for the effort. Right from the start be drawn into this incredible tale and plan time to read through as Ms. Hart gives no pause until the very last. If you find yourself finishing this book at 2am don't say I didn't warn you.

Master of Wolves
Master of Wolves by Angela Knight
Jim London, direwolf, is investigating the death of his friend and fellow werewolf when he discovers that dirty cops are involved. The only way to investigate now is from the inside. Enter Jim's wolf persona Rambo, a new k9 for the Clarkston Police Force. Paired with Officer Faith Weston, Jim quickly learns the danger runs deeper than he had first thought. She never expects for him to transform into a man, let alone a giant werewolf. On the run and hunted by the evil that seeks to consume and destroy them Faith and Jim must learn to trust and depend on each other before it is to late.
Set in the Mageverse world, Master of Wolves combines exciting adventure and a thrilling hunt with Angela Knight's own brand of sizzling passion. The humor running through the story is brilliantly balanced with the eroticism and adventure to keep you so emotionally offbalance and on the edge of your seat. Faith is a strong heroine able to roll with the punches recovering remarkably quickly from a series of blows, both physical and emotional in a manner that is awe inspiring. Jim is sweet intelligent and strong, willing to respect Faith's strengths and trust her to fight by his side while being smart enough to challenge those who misuse their power. Master of Wolves is an excellent addition to the Mageverse series finally bringing Fae, Direwolf and Magus together to fight the forces of evil.
Other books in the series Seductions Gift in the Hot Blooded anthology, Master of Night, Galahad in the Bite anthology and Master of the Moon upcoming book Master of Swords is due in October 2006.

Sword of Darkness
Sword of Darkness by Kinley MacGregor
Once a young boy, hated, reviled and hunted, came upon a sword locked in a stone. In desperation the boy tried to draw the weapon so he would not be defenseless when the hunters caught him. The sword released into his young body a power unheard of, but the sword was not Excallaber and the boy was not Arthur. It was Kerrigan that pulled the sword from the stone, a sword created to balance Arthur's legendary weapon, evil in place of good. Now as the King of Camelot Kerrigan cannot afford any weakness, for under Morigan's rule a weak king is a dead king.
Seren lives a simple life, her greatest dream is to be a journeyman weaver. After a years hard work, scrimping and saving, she finally has a cloth she believes will grant her entry into the guild hall. Stunned and shocked by their rejection Seren begins her journey home only to be accosted by two strange Knights claiming to be from Arthur Pendragon's court. More than that they claim she is to be the mother of the next Merlin. To wise to fall for their tricks and unwilling to risk her apprenticeship by giving up her innocence she runs, right into the path of a dark knight named Kerrigan.
Having captured the mother of the next penmerlin, Kerrigan has no interest in keeping her alive other than to offer a trade for Arthur's round table. Still when he gets what he wants undoubtedly the woman will die, except Seren does not fear him and for the first time in his life Kerrigan wants what can only be freely given. Seren touches something deep inside Kerrigan awakening instincts to claim and protect that not even the King of Camelot can fight.
Set in a beautiful and compelling world Sword of Darkness will quickly draw you into Ms. MacGregor's version of the post Arthurian legend with a definite twist. This excellent start to the Lords of Avalon series introduces a fabulous cast of secondary characters who's story's you'll be looking forward too. A pair of sympathetic and well written main characters that evoke feelings so strong they will make your belly clench while the hot passion between them will steam your senses. I am eagerly awaiting the release of Varian and Merewyn's story in November.

When Good Things Happen to Bad Boys
Playing Doctor by Lori Foster
Orphan Libby Preston works hard to ensure that once she graduates from nursing school she will owe the uncle, who took her in after her mothers tragic death, nothing. She has no time for men, especially men who run when they find out she's still a virgin.
Axel Dean loves women and while he wasn't exactly an honorable man he did draw the line at deflowering virgins. But when he is faced with Libby's determination to have sex Axel decides he wants to be that guy.
watching Axel change from a self serving man to a loving and caring patner was amusing, the change just seemed to baffle him and the reaction of his friend is hilarious. Fans of Ms Foster will enjoy her special brand of erotic humor while those new to her work should avoid drinking anything they could possibly snort through their noses.
The Lady of the Lake by Erin McCarthy
kindergarten teacher Violet Caruthers wants a baby, unfortunately the man she'd hoped would father her child didn't even notice when she fell off the back of his fishing boat. Lucky for Violet pro baseball player Dylan Diaz has nothing better to do on his birthday than go for a solo sail and rescue a half naked nearly drowned woman.
Dylan knows he's in trouble when he pulls the scantily dressed woman out of the lake and she lands face first in his lap. With a body full of sexy curves and the mannerisms of a kindergarten teacher Dylan soon finds himself wanting to give Violet the baby she longs for, but after they make love if Violet wants to walk away will Dylan be able to let her?
Hardhats and Silk Stockings by HelenKay Dimon
Whit Thomas has a hidden desire to make architect Hannah Bridges his, but do you think the sexy but irritating woman is cooperating? Hannah is to busy proving she's just one of the guys to notice Whit is flirting with her, if only he could get her alone where she can't put work between them. With the help of his brother Whit sets up a surprise for Hannah, one that will allow her to let her hair down and let him in.
Hannah has a deadline that one small problem could destroy, if that happens Hannah will loose her business and her hope of freedom. Unfortunately no one told Whit Thomas that and now the annoying, if sexy, twit has locked her into his late uncles erotic dungeon. With a fear of closed in spaces and a desperation to meet her deadline Hannah has a burning urge to escape, but when Whit suggests they enjoy the time off together Hannah finds herself seriously tempted.
Full of fun and laughter Hardhats and Silk Stockings will have you cramping with laughter, a combination of well drawn comedic scenes and clever wordplay entrap your senses and bring you fully into the world painted by Ms. Dimon. Watching Whit try so hard to win Hannah's heart proving himself better then she thought he could be was heart warming. Hannah's growth throughout the story to learn to see the truth of the man rather than her assumptions of him was sweetly satisfying. I found Hardhats and Silk Stockings to be a very entertaining and sensual read.

The Waterlord
The Waterlord by Dawn Thompson
Once every generation each waterlord must enter the mortal world to impregnate a human woman therefore ensuring the continuity of the waterfall guardians. Klaus is the prince of these beings, half mortal by nature, Klaus no longer finds happiness in the relm of the of the Fae. Will Klaus, like his father before him, give up immortality for love?
Lady Rebecca is running from her father who bet her hand in marriage and lost. However things do not go according to plan when the carriage overturns in a storm. Luckily Klaus is there to rescue Rebecca and her maid before the carraige falls off the edge of the cliff. Under Klaus's protection Rebecca manages to avoid her father but she is also having some very disturbing dreams.
The premise of this book was basically good however the end product was lacking. I found it hard to relate to the non sympathetic characters and difficult to immerse myself in a world that seemed only a veneer. However if you enjoyed the Ravencliff Bride you may wish to give the Waterlord a go as you will find the same scatterbrained heroine in attendance. To be fair I am very fussy about my paranormal reads.

Dark Demon
Dark Demon by Christine Feehan
Natalya Shonski is the granddaughter of Maxim, a powerful wizard who's relationship with a beautiful Carpathian woman started a war. Warned that the mark of the dragon she wears will mean instant death should any Carpathian see it Natalya has spent her whole life on the run. Killing the vampires who hunt her and dodging the Carpathian hunters leaves little time for anything else. Certainly it leaves no time for Natalya to investigate the gaping holes in her memories, Memories that haunt her nightmares leaving nothing but a sense of unease in the morning.
Virkirnoff had promised his brother that he would not greet the dawn until he located the mystery woman hunted by vampires. But he was running out of time, the void of emotion and color widening until he wondered if it had consumed him without conscious choice. Full of the sensual erotism, possessive men and strong lifemates that mark Ms Feehan's recent work Dark Demon brings together the storyline that has been building through the series. Pure Sex
Zoe Lauterborn is the best investment banker on Wall Street, but she could never be just one of the guys. Still with a promotion practically in the bag Zoe had to have a decent working relationship with these men. So when Zoe got a little tipsy during one after work happy hour with the guys she perhaps reacted a little differently than she would have normally to their suggestions that Phillip Kingdom would get the promotion, a truly ridiculous notion considering that her numbers were consistently higher. When Zoe suggests that her coworkers put their bonus's where their mouths are they all decline except for Phillip, but Phillip doesn't want her money, he wants her body.
Phillip felt a little guilty about pushing Zoe into the bet after getting her a bit tipsy, but not guilty enough to loose the napkin she'd signed with the bets conditions on it. So casting aside his guilt Phillip finds himself determined to rid Zoe of her inhibitions on a night of fantasy and pleasure neither of them will ever forget.
I enjoyed Zoe's journey of discovery from straight laced Ice Queen business woman to feminine sexual siren without having to give up any part of herself. Instead Zoe grew to discover that being feminine did not equate loosing control nor loosing the respect she required to function in her male dominated world. Other than a brief asshole moment when he took advantage of Zoe's drunkenness Phillip seemed a nice guy, taking no sexual release for himself on the night of the bet he seemed determined to push all of Zoe's boundary's and break down all of her defensive walls with the pleasure he could provide her. With sympathetic characters and very little in the way of secondary characters to distract you from the tension building between Phillip and Zoe The Bet is an electric story of hot passion and searing sensuality sure to delight.
Slow Hand by Bonnie Edwards
Teri Branton is going on her honeymoon, a luxury Caribbean cruise. Unfortunately she has no groom to share the adventure with her because the asshole she was meant to marry that morning had run off with her maid of honor and left her at the alter. Of course once Teri gets a good look at the piratical captain of the SandJack, Jared MacKay, Teri starts to think that maybe a vacation with a gorgeous Caribbean pirate might be exactly what she needs.
Captain Jared MacKay had given up on the rat race in favor of a lazy life in the Caribbean. Running honeymoon cruises kept him in pocket, and if it was occasionally difficult to ignore the sounds coming from the honeymoon cabin Jared just figured it was part of the job. Until he laid eyes on Teri Branton, suddenly Jared wasn't sure he could handle hearing this woman in the throes of passion, unless he was the one to take her there. Thrilled to learn about her absent groom Jared is still shocked by the electric thrill that passes between them whenever they touch, the thrill that marks the curse of the MacKay men.
Sexually steamy and emotionally erotic, Slow Hand will bring you to your knee's with tears of laughter and gut clenching pleasure. With graphically drawn characters in a vividly painted world I found myself so immersed in the story I could feel the rock of the boat and hear the ocean. Watching Teri blossom under Jared's gentle hand was emotionally uplifting, while Jared's willingness to make Teri happy no matter the personal cost was romantically very satisfying. I found Slow Hand to be a very enjoyable read and look forward eagerly to Ms. Edwards next exciting book.
The Crib by Sasha White
When Lexy's uncle Tony becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a junky behind his bar 'The Crib' Lexy Knows that something isn't right. So returning to her home town to track down the real killer becomes Lexy's mission. A mission she won't let Devon, the sexy bike dealer, interfere with.
Devon has a closely guarded secret, one that he must keep from Alexis. Even after they share a night so hot just the thought of it can make him weak in the knees. While his secret keeps him in close convines to Lexy, Devon is forced to build lie upon lie to keep the truth from the woman who is beginning to stir emotions deep within his soul.
A thrilling murder mystry wrapped around some sizzling hot sex makes for an interesting and involving read. While I found the ending to be a little anticlimatic and somewhat of a disapointment, especially when compared to other stories in the anthology please remember that this is my personal opinion and give this story a chance yourself.

Desire After Dark
Desire After Dark by Amanda Ashley
When a serial killer comes to town Vicki Cavendish knows she must be careful, the killer draining women of their blood targets women with red hair and green eye's just like hers but caution doesn't stop her inviting the stunning stranger into her home.

Victoria changes all that with her acceptance and love. Torn between leaving her to a normal human life and staying to protect what is his Antonio is forced to make peace with a hunter to ensure the safety of the woman he loves.
Once you get past the fact that Vicki falls into the to stupid to live category (I mean come on there's a killer in town this guy was seen with the victims LAST and she still lets him walk her home and invites him inside...sheesh) this story meets the standards set by previous books in the series. Revisiting the couples from previous books brought a nostalgic glow to the books ending while an eccentric ghost brought history and humor to the plot.

A Taste for Control
Duncan Mordoor lived in seclusion, his strong psychic gifts making it hard to be around others. A life lived in total control filled with vampires who avoided him and humans who bored him, his only release found through his music. Beautiful melody's and spectacular public performances make him a local performing star but with so many people trying to break his self imposed solitude wil Duncan be able to resist them all?
Seeking proof of the existence of vampires, Rose Sinclair PI never thought she'd find it. Until a vampire kidnapped her and tied Rose to his bed. Naked and terrified Rose is glad to be rescued especially since her rescuer is sexy if somewhat strange. Together the pair must journey to discover their pasts before history destroys them or tears them apart. When each discovery is a foundation rocking shock how long before this pair find themselves drawn permanently together?
I think this is the best of the series featuring the enigmatic Duncan who gets knocked for six when his psychic gifts don't work on the woman of his dreams. Duncan relied so heavily on his gifts to interact with people that he had no idea how to react to a woman who was a total blank slate to him which caused some truly comedic moments. Rose was a strong vivacious woman who reacted better than expected to being tied up naked in a vampires room. Practical and sensual is a very sexy combination in my humble opinion and makes you want to follow the story further, with so many other extrodinary hero's available I can only hope that Ms Michelle chooses to continue writing in this dynamic world.
Book one of the series is A Taste for Passion the second book is A Taste for Revenge.

A Taste for Revenge
A Taste for Revenge by Patrice Michelle
After the vicious murder of her vampire hunting father Jacqueline 'Jax' Markson swore vengence and began the hunt. With a mystery informants help Jax keeps close on the heels of the responsible vamp when she runs across another hunter trying to steal her kill.
Ian 'the Enforcer' Mordoor is to take over leadership of the Bruen clan of vampires. First though, to prove his worth, he must bring a rogue vampire to justice. Together Jax and Ian battle evil to stop the pointless murder of his kind and hers, but how will Jax react when she finds out that she's begun to care for the very thing her father fought his whole life to destroy.
This second book in Ms Michelle's 'Taste' series comes through just as powerfully as it's predecesor. I found Jax to be a strong heroine capable of defending both herself and her man if necesarry. Watching as she put aside her grief to find the creature that tortured her father was very empowering, it was wonderful watching Ian trying to get past defenses she'd built against his kind believing them all to be evil.
The first book in this series is A Taste for Passion and the third book is A Taste for Control.

Finding Rana seemed like a miracle coming at a time of great strife in the vampire community. Hunted at every turn with a human mate that refuses to accept her place as his vampire mate, his Anima.
Erotic and exciting, Ms Michelle has created a perfect blend of hot sex and suspenseful drama. Hot in Here
Hot in Here by Susan Lyons
Reporter Jenny Yuen was always after a good story and attending the competition to select the twelve firemen for the calendar gave her the opportunity for a great story and a chance for the awesome foursome to get together and oggle some hot bods. But when a sexy fireman did a sensual tap rather than the bump and grind that had set the tone for the night Jenny was so distracted by his sheer sexuality she forgot to breathe let alone snap pictures. Determined to 'interview' Scott Jackman aka Mr February Jenny heads backstage, using her powerful personality to draw his attention Jenny gets granted her interview now it's up to her to see where she can make it lead.
Scott Jackman was a probie, pushed into the competition by the crew at the firehall he was just glad to have won so they wouldn't have another reason to give him crap. All the hot women hitting on him were just a bonus and after how unexpectedly arousing he found performing he defiantly wanted to take one of them up on their offer. Preferably one of the hot busty blonds, but when a tiny asian woman flicks her hair at him while asking for an interview Scott finds himself drawn to her and her cheeky navel piercing.
When absolutely mind blowing sex results from their encounter Jenny decides to take a leaf from Suzanne's book and create the fantasy rules, after all it's not like she could take Scott home to her ultra traditional chinese family. So whether its her creating a fantasy for him or Scott going all out to fulfill her fantasy's she works to keep the serious stuff out, unfortunately her heart doesn't know the rules.
Is it Hot in Here? It most certainly is. Following the precedent set by Champagne Rules, Hot in Here is full of hotly erotic scenes and beautifully emotional bonding. Champagne Rules
Champagne Rules by Susan Lyons
One sunny afternoon in Crete Suzanne Brennan shared a magical moment and fantastic sex with a stranger. Although they never exchanged names Suzanne has never forgotten him, nor found any other man to measure up. So with a little encouragement from her friends Suzanne sets out to find her mystery lover again.
Jaxon Navarre had never forgotten the sexy mermaid who'd rocked his world in Crete. Through a marriage and divorce she remained his fantasy girl, but with no name she was impossible to find, not that he had time for a relationship anyhow. But when he found an add on the internet, one that suggested she was looking for more sexual fun, he couldn't resist answering. Perhaps given more time he'd be able to work her out of his system.
Together Suzanne and Jaxon create the Champagne Rules, rules designed to keep their sexual relationship fresh and fizzy by stopping the conversation dipping into the mundane versions of their lives. Will this creative couple be able to stick to the rules or will their real lives intrude upon their sexual interludes?
The absolute first thing you notice about this book is the hot sex, not ususally the first thing you notice I hear you say, that's because normally books don't start with hot, panty dampening sex. What a fantastic beginning you get really drawn into the couple and then they separate. Introduce the awesome foursome, Suzannes friends who encourage and support her in all her endeavourers. Jenny, Ann and Rina help Suzanne to locate Jaxon and in the process ender themselves to you. Good thing Susan Lyons is giving them each their own books. A journey mixed with tender moments and steamy sex follows as the pair struggle with the realization that they are perfect for each other. Watching them deal with IM and phone sex as well as the real page melting and generally semi public sexual encounters will keep you turning the pages until you get to the end, and trust me you will want more.
Hot sex, best friend bonding over the rehash and a sexy twin who comes out to play when Jaxon comes to town what more can you ask from a book? Nothing, and in my opinion that makes Champagne Rules a keeper.

Chocolate Kisses
Chocolate Kisses by Francis Ray, Maryann Reid, Renee Luke

He was her weakness and to prevent loosing everything she had turned her back on him. Since then her career has bloomed but now he's back more distracting then ever and this time he's not going away.
Hot and rich this sensual story will have you salivating and squirming with descriptions of tasty chocolate treats and scenes of sizzling sex.
A Good Man is Hard to Count by Maryann Reid
Savannah has determined the best way of keeping track of her lovers is with a man jar. Each time she gets laid she puts an appropriate colored stick in the jar, when the jar gets full the predominate color is the man to go. And then comes Clinton, a sexy firefighter he soon has her only wanting him, but when he finds the man jar and figures out its use will it end the budding relationship?
I found this a very hard story to get into, the characters are unsympathetic but obviously believable or I wouldn't loathe them so passionately. He's a cheat and she's a skank so I guess they deserve each other although I can't say I hold much hope for the future of this relationship.
Chocolate Kisses

This first in the Heat series will draw you in and have you asking for more. Although some of the editing is rough at times for the most part it is easy enough to ignore in favor of the fantastic story. You'll finish it asking for more which is good because this book also includes.

Unleash the Night
Unleash the Night by Sherilyn Kenyon
Wren Tigarian has spent twenty years hiding at Sanctuary, his entire demeanor designed to allow him to blend with the furnishings until the night Marguerite D'Aubert comes in for a drink.
Suddenly Wren wants to be more than he is, to have more than he's survived on. A forbidden blend of white tiger and snow leopard, orphaned when his parents killed each other, Wren fear the violence inherent to his nature.
Drawn to Maggie Wren reaches out to the one person who's touch he craves, even if she can handle the tiger within they will still need to stand against his enemy's.
This absolutely spellbinding story grabbed me from the first, Wren is just so sympathetic that the urge to smack around anyone who hurts him is almost overwhelming. Generally this is followed by satisfaction when Maggie does just that, Maggie is sweet and sexy willing to accept her man with all his faults, she understands he requires a gentle touch and lots of love.
With a quick visit to Nick and a recap on the three were couples already together this is an impossible to put down book and defiantly rates a reread.
This book is part of the Dark Hunter series. Other books in the series are Fantasy Lover, Dragonswan, Night Pleasures, Night Embrace, Phantom Lover(part of the Midnight Pleasures anthology), Dance with the Devil, Kiss of the Night, Night Play, Winterborn(part of the Stroke of Midnight anthology), Seize the Night, Sins of the Night

Revenge Gifts
Revenge Gifts by Cindy Cruciger
Tara Cole's business is revenge and she's good at it. Never mind the karmic hits she's taking for sending out pillows stuffed with cat hair for the allergy prone and the devious chocolate a day gift for the chocoholic. Revenge-gifts.com is doing great but Tara pretty much thinks her life sucks. She's slacking off in the Keys when one of her gifts comes back to bite her on the butt in the form of a reversal of fortune curse. Well if your life sucks and you haven't got laid in ten years a reversal of fortune might not be a bad thing right?
This book is so funny that I finished it even though it absolutely insults aussies, hey aussie men can be rude and crude but no way are they worse then french blokes. Some of the gifts available on Revenge-Gifts.com make you chuckle long into the night and Tara's acceptance of all the weird stuff that seems to follow her around ie ghosts in her house, possessed dogs and rabid roosters are just proof of her somewhat demented mindset. This book is a good light hearted read and a fun way to take up a couple of hours on the bus.

Bewitched, Bothered & Bevampyred
Due to the sheer number of stories in this anthology I have decided I will not even try to write a description of each. Go buy the book all the proceeds go to the red cross anyhow.
Paranormal meets pulp fiction in this anthology. Twenty episodes all revolving around the fabulous town of Brokenoggin Falls where a scream will summon the sheriff and hunky guys wander around naked. Witches cast spells trolls live in the forest and the fairy's are flaming in this magical town. Each episode written by a different author this laugh out loud read will keep you entertained until the very end.
