Show Me

Show Me by Celia May Hart

Miss Portia Carew lived in the shadow of scandalous rumors started by her ex fience. Never mind that they were true it was beyond the pale for him to spread the rumors after he dumped her. So now determined to avoid her matchmaking mothers attempts to find her a husband and set up a quiet life alone, Portia only needs to learn to give herself pleasure to become completely self sufficient.

The Honorable Mark Knightson avoided marriage like the plague, just the thought of it was enough to unman him. However helping a young miss learn to pleasure herself, that's a whole nother story. When he catches Portia touching herself in the library Mark is quick to offer his services and when the sexy, sensual Portia seduces him Mark goes along willingly, after of course making sure Portia knows about his five fuck limit. But when the time comes will Mark turn his back on his sexy student or will he look inside and find his greatest fear is no longer marriage but living without Portia's love?

Set amongst the pomp and pagentary of the Regency Era Show Me is chock full of the sexual heat we have come to expect of the Aphrodisia line, Watching Portia mature both sexually and emotionally through out the story is very satisfying. While Mark's journey seemed harder, taking a nasty shock and an awful loss before he could get past his preconceived notions but more worthwhile for the effort. Right from the start be drawn into this incredible tale and plan time to read through as Ms. Hart gives no pause until the very last. If you find yourself finishing this book at 2am don't say I didn't warn you.

Master of Wolves

Master of Wolves by Angela Knight

She never expects for him to transform into a man, let alone a giant werewolf. On the run and hunted by the evil that seeks to consume and destroy them Faith and Jim must learn to trust and depend on each other before it is to late.

Set in the Mageverse world, Master of Wolves combines exciting adventure and a thrilling hunt with Angela Knight's own brand of sizzling passion. The humor running through the story is brilliantly balanced with the eroticism and adventure to keep you so emotionally offbalance and on the edge of your seat. Faith is a strong heroine able to roll with the punches recovering remarkably quickly from a series of blows, both physical and emotional in a manner that is awe inspiring. Jim is sweet intelligent and strong, willing to respect Faith's strengths and trust her to fight by his side while being smart enough to challenge those who misuse their power. Master of Wolves is an excellent addition to the Mageverse series finally bringing Fae, Direwolf and Magus together to fight the forces of evil.

Other books in the series Seductions Gift in the Hot Blooded anthology, Master of Night, Galahad in the Bite anthology and Master of the Moon upcoming book Master of Swords is due in October 2006.

Sword of Darkness

Sword of Darkness by Kinley MacGregor

Once a young boy, hated, reviled and hunted, came upon a sword locked in a stone. In desperation the boy tried to draw the weapon so he would not be defenseless when the hunters caught him. The sword released into his young body a power unheard of, but the sword was not Excallaber and the boy was not Arthur. It was Kerrigan that pulled the sword from the stone, a sword created to balance Arthur's legendary weapon, evil in place of good. Now as the King of Camelot Kerrigan cannot afford any weakness, for under Morigan's rule a weak king is a dead king.

Seren lives a simple life, her greatest dream is to be a journeyman weaver. After a years hard work, scrimping and saving, she finally has a cloth she believes will grant her entry into the guild hall. Stunned and shocked by their rejection Seren begins her journey home only to be accosted by two strange Knights claiming to be from Arthur Pendragon's court. More than that they claim she is to be the mother of the next Merlin. To wise to fall for their tricks and unwilling to risk her apprenticeship by giving up her innocence she runs, right into the path of a dark knight named Kerrigan.

Having captured the mother of the next penmerlin, Kerrigan has no interest in keeping her alive other than to offer a trade for Arthur's round table. Still when he gets what he wants undoubtedly the woman will die, except Seren does not fear him and for the first time in his life Kerrigan wants what can only be freely given. Seren touches something deep inside Kerrigan awakening instincts to claim and protect that not even the King of Camelot can fight.

Set in a beautiful and compelling world Sword of Darkness will quickly draw you into Ms. MacGregor's version of the post Arthurian legend with a definite twist. This excellent start to the Lords of Avalon series introduces a fabulous cast of secondary characters who's story's you'll be looking forward too. A pair of sympathetic and well written main characters that evoke feelings so strong they will make your belly clench while the hot passion between them will steam your senses. I am eagerly awaiting the release of Varian and Merewyn's story in November.

When Good Things Happen to Bad Boys

When Good Things Happen to Bad Boys by Lori Foster, Erin McCarthy and HelenKay Dimon

Playing Doctor by Lori Foster

Orphan Libby Preston works hard to ensure that once she graduates from nursing school she will owe the uncle, who took her in after her mothers tragic death, nothing. She has no time for men, especially men who run when they find out she's still a virgin.

Axel Dean loves women and while he wasn't exactly an honorable man he did draw the line at deflowering virgins. But when he is faced with Libby's determination to have sex Axel decides he wants to be that guy.

watching Axel change from a self serving man to a loving and caring patner was amusing, the change just seemed to baffle him and the reaction of his friend is hilarious. Fans of Ms Foster will enjoy her special brand of erotic humor while those new to her work should avoid drinking anything they could possibly snort through their noses.

The Lady of the Lake by Erin McCarthy

kindergarten teacher Violet Caruthers wants a baby, unfortunately the man she'd hoped would father her child didn't even notice when she fell off the back of his fishing boat. Lucky for Violet pro baseball player Dylan Diaz has nothing better to do on his birthday than go for a solo sail and rescue a half naked nearly drowned woman.

Dylan knows he's in trouble when he pulls the scantily dressed woman out of the lake and she lands face first in his lap. With a body full of sexy curves and the mannerisms of a kindergarten teacher Dylan soon finds himself wanting to give Violet the baby she longs for, but after they make love if Violet wants to walk away will Dylan be able to let her?

Hardhats and Silk Stockings by HelenKay Dimon

Whit Thomas has a hidden desire to make architect Hannah Bridges his, but do you think the sexy but irritating woman is cooperating? Hannah is to busy proving she's just one of the guys to notice Whit is flirting with her, if only he could get her alone where she can't put work between them. With the help of his brother Whit sets up a surprise for Hannah, one that will allow her to let her hair down and let him in.

Hannah has a deadline that one small problem could destroy, if that happens Hannah will loose her business and her hope of freedom. Unfortunately no one told Whit Thomas that and now the annoying, if sexy, twit has locked her into his late uncles erotic dungeon. With a fear of closed in spaces and a desperation to meet her deadline Hannah has a burning urge to escape, but when Whit suggests they enjoy the time off together Hannah finds herself seriously tempted.

Full of fun and laughter Hardhats and Silk Stockings will have you cramping with laughter, a combination of well drawn comedic scenes and clever wordplay entrap your senses and bring you fully into the world painted by Ms. Dimon. Watching Whit try so hard to win Hannah's heart proving himself better then she thought he could be was heart warming. Hannah's growth throughout the story to learn to see the truth of the man rather than her assumptions of him was sweetly satisfying. I found Hardhats and Silk Stockings to be a very entertaining and sensual read.

The Waterlord

The Waterlord by Dawn Thompson

Once every generation each waterlord must enter the mortal world to impregnate a human woman therefore ensuring the continuity of the waterfall guardians. Klaus is the prince of these beings, half mortal by nature, Klaus no longer finds happiness in the relm of the of the Fae. Will Klaus, like his father before him, give up immortality for love?

Lady Rebecca is running from her father who bet her hand in marriage and lost. However things do not go according to plan when the carriage overturns in a storm. Luckily Klaus is there to rescue Rebecca and her maid before the carraige falls off the edge of the cliff. Under Klaus's protection Rebecca manages to avoid her father but she is also having some very disturbing dreams.

The premise of this book was basically good however the end product was lacking. I found it hard to relate to the non sympathetic characters and difficult to immerse myself in a world that seemed only a veneer. However if you enjoyed the Ravencliff Bride you may wish to give the Waterlord a go as you will find the same scatterbrained heroine in attendance. To be fair I am very fussy about my paranormal reads.

Dark Demon

Dark Demon by Christine Feehan

Natalya Shonski is the granddaughter of Maxim, a powerful wizard who's relationship with a beautiful Carpathian woman started a war. Warned that the mark of the dragon she wears will mean instant death should any Carpathian see it Natalya has spent her whole life on the run. Killing the vampires who hunt her and dodging the Carpathian hunters leaves little time for anything else. Certainly it leaves no time for Natalya to investigate the gaping holes in her memories, Memories that haunt her nightmares leaving nothing but a sense of unease in the morning.

Virkirnoff had promised his brother that he would not greet the dawn until he located the mystery woman hunted by vampires. But he was running out of time, the void of emotion and color widening until he wondered if it had consumed him without conscious choice. Then Natalya reached out to him and suddenly Virkirnoff was no longer alone.

Full of the sensual erotism, possessive men and strong lifemates that mark Ms Feehan's recent work Dark Demon brings together the storyline that has been building through the series. Set in the Carpathian mountains Dark Demon provides a chance to catch up with some of the early couples and see how they have grown.

Pure Sex

The Bet by Lucinda Bets

Zoe Lauterborn is the best investment banker on Wall Street, but she could never be just one of the guys. Still with a promotion practically in the bag Zoe had to have a decent working relationship with these men. So when Zoe got a little tipsy during one after work happy hour with the guys she perhaps reacted a little differently than she would have normally to their suggestions that Phillip Kingdom would get the promotion, a truly ridiculous notion considering that her numbers were consistently higher. When Zoe suggests that her coworkers put their bonus's where their mouths are they all decline except for Phillip, but Phillip doesn't want her money, he wants her body.

Phillip felt a little guilty about pushing Zoe into the bet after getting her a bit tipsy, but not guilty enough to loose the napkin she'd signed with the bets conditions on it. So casting aside his guilt Phillip finds himself determined to rid Zoe of her inhibitions on a night of fantasy and pleasure neither of them will ever forget.

I enjoyed Zoe's journey of discovery from straight laced Ice Queen business woman to feminine sexual siren without having to give up any part of herself. Instead Zoe grew to discover that being feminine did not equate loosing control nor loosing the respect she required to function in her male dominated world. Other than a brief asshole moment when he took advantage of Zoe's drunkenness Phillip seemed a nice guy, taking no sexual release for himself on the night of the bet he seemed determined to push all of Zoe's boundary's and break down all of her defensive walls with the pleasure he could provide her. With sympathetic characters and very little in the way of secondary characters to distract you from the tension building between Phillip and Zoe The Bet is an electric story of hot passion and searing sensuality sure to delight.

Slow Hand by Bonnie Edwards

Teri Branton is going on her honeymoon, a luxury Caribbean cruise. Unfortunately she has no groom to share the adventure with her because the asshole she was meant to marry that morning had run off with her maid of honor and left her at the alter. Of course once Teri gets a good look at the piratical captain of the SandJack, Jared MacKay, Teri starts to think that maybe a vacation with a gorgeous Caribbean pirate might be exactly what she needs.

Captain Jared MacKay had given up on the rat race in favor of a lazy life in the Caribbean. Running honeymoon cruises kept him in pocket, and if it was occasionally difficult to ignore the sounds coming from the honeymoon cabin Jared just figured it was part of the job. Until he laid eyes on Teri Branton, suddenly Jared wasn't sure he could handle hearing this woman in the throes of passion, unless he was the one to take her there. Thrilled to learn about her absent groom Jared is still shocked by the electric thrill that passes between them whenever they touch, the thrill that marks the curse of the MacKay men.

Sexually steamy and emotionally erotic, Slow Hand will bring you to your knee's with tears of laughter and gut clenching pleasure. With graphically drawn characters in a vividly painted world I found myself so immersed in the story I could feel the rock of the boat and hear the ocean. Watching Teri blossom under Jared's gentle hand was emotionally uplifting, while Jared's willingness to make Teri happy no matter the personal cost was romantically very satisfying. I found Slow Hand to be a very enjoyable read and look forward eagerly to Ms. Edwards next exciting book.

The Crib by Sasha White

When Lexy's uncle Tony becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a junky behind his bar 'The Crib' Lexy Knows that something isn't right. So returning to her home town to track down the real killer becomes Lexy's mission. A mission she won't let Devon, the sexy bike dealer, interfere with.

Devon has a closely guarded secret, one that he must keep from Alexis. Even after they share a night so hot just the thought of it can make him weak in the knees. While his secret keeps him in close convines to Lexy, Devon is forced to build lie upon lie to keep the truth from the woman who is beginning to stir emotions deep within his soul.

A thrilling murder mystry wrapped around some sizzling hot sex makes for an interesting and involving read. While I found the ending to be a little anticlimatic and somewhat of a disapointment, especially when compared to other stories in the anthology please remember that this is my personal opinion and give this story a chance yourself.
